The home weatherization retrofit program delivered by EnviroCentre helps low-income households, both home owners or renters with landlord approval, reduce their energy consumption through improved insulation (usually in the basement and attic but sometimes exterior walls in much older houses) as well as better draft sealing, which also makes homes much more comfortable. The total value of this free service can be over $5,000 and save you between $350 and $750 a year in energy bills, so let’s hope you qualify.

• your home is heated by a natural gas furnace,
• you pay your own natural gas bill,
• your home was built before 1970,
• your basement has unfinished bare concrete exterior walls and an under-insulated attic, or
• your home is a pre-1940 house that has absolutely no insulation in the walls.

How do I apply?

Call EnviroCentre at 613-580-2582 ext 4, or toll free at 1-877-580-2582 ext. 4. We may be able to pre-qualify you over the phone and then you will need to provide a signed application, proof of income eligibility, and the account number on your gas bill. Please note that the information you provide will be used solely for program purposes and will otherwise be kept confidential.
